Every good developer has their favorite links that they use for education, help and day-to-day information. This is where we keep up with emerging technologies, go to school (yep, every day) and cry for help. We feel that we are the best at what we do and to stay that way we have to work at it.
From beginning ASP to the .Net framework, we have had to stay on top of the news and lurk around discussion lists to improve our skills. Here are our favorite places to accomplish this.
Freelance Work Exchange
Provides access to a wealth of freelance jobs and resources. Visitors can receive a FREE report on the top markets, a course of market tips and a twice-weekly Freelance Job Report.
15Seconds.com
15Seconds.com is a great resource on all things Active Server and their discussion list is one of the first places we go when we need help.
DevX
Hosted and maintained by Fawcette Technical Publications, Inc. out of Palo Alto, this resource is not just about Active Server, but all development technologies. Not a shameless attempt to sell publications, but a real place to go for needed cutting edge information and education. (Oh, yeah, they do sell stuff, too)
ASP 101
Remember English 101? enough said!
Aspin
Tutorials, free and pay-for applications, education, hosting links and developers for all!
4GuysFromRolla
Not your average site, these guys are free with their advise and expertise. It seems to have been gobbled up by internet.com without affecting the content.
Haneng
A different ASP developers site! This site is built to help in your daily chores as a webmaster or web developer. So you have to register for the goodies, but it's free and you can build your own start page so the articles and code you need is there when you need it.
AspFree
AspFree (what more needs to be said?) When one of my favorite help sites, AspToday, went from free (what a wonderful word!) to pay :( ... well, I almost cried. I antied up the bucks and paid for asptoday.com, but I still endorse the guiding light of the web: Information and entertainment for the searching!
