In a newsletter sent out by eFolkMusic on 8/14/2000:

efolkMusic Moves Into New Digs
We've moved into our new store, and boy is my back sore from lugging all those mp3s around! Come in, take a tour, let us know what you think.

What's better about it?
First off, it's faster, thanks to smart programming (web-services.org), our SQL database and dedicated server. Get faster downloads, too, all legal and virus-free.

That's good- What else?
Great new search capabilities to help you find what you want, easier purchasing and downloading of mp3s, more info on artist pages, plus more hi-fi real-audio previews, more artists, more cds and downloads added every day

In 2000, Chris wrote: "We have worked with web-services for the past two years, and they have done a great job for us. They customized their ShopPlus Cart to enable us to securely sell mp3s, and have continued to develop our application into a world-class e-commerce web site. If you can describe a feature you want to add, they can realize it and help you implement it. Their service is timely and their prices are reasonable- I highly recommend Web Services."

And now, over 5 years later, eFolkMusic is a non-profit organization as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. I sit on the Board of Directors as the Webmaster and I am developing a backend for our artist-members to manage their music, allowing them to upload their albums without having to send in a physical disk.

Chris' comments (Feb 15, 2005):

efolkMusic has been extremely fortunate to have connected with Lynda Postal and Web-Services.org for the past seven years. We are consistently pleased and amazed at her expertise in creating and continuing to improve efolkmusic.org.  Our site is not a simple retail or informational site- our needs to securely deliver and track our digital content (MP3s) as well as physical merchandise are quite complex; Lynda has risen to every task and achieved our objectives in a timely fashion. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Many people label Steve Jobs a visionary for developing a working digital music delivery system in 2004- too few people know that Lynda Postal and efolkMusic developed and implemented our "Digital Music Distribution" application in 1999, delivering single and bulk sales plus tracked promotional distribution- and you can rest assured we spent millions less than Apple for our programming!  This was and continues to be groundbreaking work; Lynda couldn't go to the web (as many developers do) and find code to copy- she was among the first developers to successfully implement such an application, "inventing the wheel", so to speak, and making it work for our artists and users.

efolkMusic is a nonprofit organization, and I also must thank Lynda for going the extra mile and volunteering her valuable service.  Her loyalty to our mission has made us what we are today.

From CommuniCreations in Seattle, WA.

WSO has been instrumental in helping a client of ours migrate from a basic off-the-shelf e-commerce solution on UNIX to the robust capability ASP Shop Plus offers on NT. Throughout the entire process, the company has been extremely helpful, innovative and responsive to our ever-changing needs. Thanks in particular to Lynda for her ideas and programming magic. Because of WSO, we're able to offer our clients a higher end solution that we couldn't have offered otherwise.
